It was in this moment on the beach in Mexico when I realized that I wanted to live a more fulfilling life. What I mean by that is, I want to be happier every day, not just while on vacation. It was on that trip in June 2014, I decided that year would be my last year in my brick-and-mortar business. The signs were everywhere, and I have the pictures to prove it! I don’t know if you believe in signs, but I sure do! <3

The last time I was actually able to take a vacation prior to this trip to Mexico in 2014 was in 2006. Eight years!! I was honestly fed up! I was unfulfilled and frustrated! I wanted out for years, but that day on the beach in Mexico, I realized I had to just take the leap. I decided that I would ride out the rest of my lease and then I would not renew and I would not renew my licensing.  I was just ready to be done! And when the time came in 2015, let me tell you I was afraid, but I was more afraid of staying in a business that was sucking the happiness out of me.

I know this may sound crazy to some, like why would you just shut the business down? My response, I want to be happy! If you don’t have peace of mind and happiness, what do you really have? I’d rather take a leap of faith and ride out the ups and downs of the unknown than to spend one more year in a place I didn’t want to be. I knew deep down that I just had to jump and figure it out along the way. That may not be the answer for everyone, but that was the answer for me. I also knew that every time I took a leap before I was OK. I’m not saying that everything was easy or that everything worked out as planned, but does it ever really work out exactly as planned? No, right?

I truly believe the more times you take that leap, the more confident you become. You become confident because you know that by taking that chance you are trying to make the difference and the change you desperately need. Look, I’m not saying that everything has worked out as planned for me because honestly, it hasn’t. What I do know is just because things don’t work out as planned or how I thought they would doesn’t mean it didn’t work out. There’s always a lesson to be learned that will make you stronger, smarter and tougher for the next decision or the next task or the next opportunity.

All I can say is, just follow your heart, let it lead you. You know what you have to do, don’t let fear stop you. You’ll regret it if you do. I have not one regret for closing my business and that is the absolute truth! I’d rather ride the entrepreneurial roller coaster than sitting idle in misery.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that I originally posted this picture on 6/23/14 at 11:33 a.m. ( 3 years ago exactly). They say when you see a sequence of numbers, there is meaning behind it. Number 1 represents fresh starts and when you see a sequence of 1’s it is a reminder to focus your energy on creating your dream life. Number 3 represents following your intuition and when you see 3’s in a sequence it is a reminder that things will show up in your life at the exact perfect time it was meant to!

So with all that being said, get out there and do what you truly want to do! Don’t hesitate, it’s fate!
