As I was standing in the shower, a thought came to my mind. A very positive thought at that, and it was this, I ALWAYS seem to make Lemonade out of lemons. Translation, I’ve been dealt some shitty hands, but somehow I always figured out how to play the hand I was dealt.
At this point in my life, I look back at all those “obstacles” and realize how fortunate I am to have gone through them. Did some of them suck, ABSOLUTELY! Did I learn valuable lessons? ABSOLUTELY! That’s what life is all about, it’s how you grow and learn.
To some, my life might seem easy or they may look at me and think I’m lucky. That’s just not the case. I choose to face each problem and not run from it, that’s the reality. If I want something, I figure out how to get it, it’s that simple. I have a vision and then figure out the steps I need to take to get closer to that vision. Sound cliche? Yeah, maybe, but it’s true.
I went from being a teen mom to being a college graduate to obtaining a job in corporate America, to real estate investing, to opening a brick and mortar business, to closing that business 8 years later. If you think I did any of those things without some bumps, bruises, and scars, you are most certainly mistaken.
Am I finished setting goals and accomplishing them? No way! I still have so many things that I have yet to do. I believe that timing is everything! If you just follow your intuition, think positively, take steps each day towards your goals and view your “obstacles” as lessons learned you too will realize how freshly squeezed lemons can turn into a sweet pitcher of lemonade!
